Well, cruise #2 has started on my back to back cruises. It is amazing what difference in the weather in a matter of four days. Today in Galveston it is beautiful.
Doing a back to back cruise in Galveston is pretty easy. First off, the ship was cleared by 7:15 a.m. and those that wanted to express walk off were free to go at that time. I had breakfast at 8:15 a.m. and then we were instructed to meet in Azure at 9:15 a.m. so the Clearance Officer could take us off the ship.
We actually got off the ship about 9:45 a.m. walked through the terminal, went through customs and then went back through check in. As soon as check in was completed we were immediately allowed to go back on the ship. I was back on board by 10:30 a.m.
I went and put laundry in (it was great, no one else was using the laundry room) and then I wandered around the ship taking pictures since no one was around (there were only about 15 of us on the back to back).
One of the crew members was decorating a stateroom with the Holiday Decorations. They are really cute. She allowed me to take pictures. This stateroom also purchased the stockings. They are a nice size and a reasonable price. I purchased a stocking also and it arrived in my stateroom shortly thereafter. You can purchase the Stateroom Amenities and Gifts by calling DCL directly. Just remember you must do it at least 3 days before your cruise.
The window cling for the room is really cute too.
Next it was off to take a couple of pictures of the Buena Vista Theater. I didn't notice changes here.
Christmas tree outside the Buena Vista Theater.
Next it is off to Tiana's Place for a few pictures:
If you look closely in the restaurant, you can still find an occasional parrot!
They have started letting guests on the ship, so it is time to meet up with Chuck and Janice for lunch in Triton's.
This Sebastian light fixture was in Parrot Cay for 17 years in the wrong restaurant. They moved it to Triton's where it was suppose to originally be when the ship was just re-imagined. 17 years and it has found its' proper home!
Eye Scream and Sully's Sips on Deck 9. Sully's Sips has smoothies you can purchase that are of the healthy variety!
The new Twist N' Spout
Dory's Reef. A cute water play area for younger children.
A beautiful afternoon for sailing away from Galveston along with a lovely sunset just shortly after sailing.
The Golden Mickeys are tonight!
Hey Michael Pete and Faith, we are still on display in Shutters. By the way, I believe I mentioned it before, but no more prints in folders. If you want a print you order it on the computer screen.
After the Golden Mickeys I head outside and see a beautiful moon and realize we are headed the wrong direction. We are 3 hours out and have to turn around and go back to Galveston for a guest who was injured on the ship. We are almost to Galveston when the Coast Guard flies in with their helicopter and pick her up. Captain Robert said he had to watch closely on deck 10 when they came in for the pick up. Hopefully the guest is okay.
Amazing what a difference 4 days makes. The ocean is calm as can be. You could water ski out there tonight.
Tree Lighting in the Atrium at 7:30 p.m.
Dinner in Triton's
We have The Magic and Illusion of Kyle Knight & Mistie in Azure tonight for the adult entertainment. Jo is our club hostess this cruise. They do some amazing illusions, and you just sit there scratching your head wondering....how did they do that?
Darren has arrived on board as well as Christian. Darren will be taking over next cruise when Peter leaves for vacation. Christian was in Spain for the dry dock and is on for the week and then will go back to shore side.
Well another day complete on the beautiful Disney Wonder. Here is the Daily Navigator for day 1.
Goodnight from the Disney Wonder!
